Care and be kind,
Speak to gently and politely,
Work hard and love greatly,
Those you mind.

About Kinderplay: The Childminder

Hello, my name is Gabrielle Campbell-West (Gabbi). I live in the Polsloe area of Exeter. I have no children of my own, but love children! I have a lot of experience of working with children - before, during and after training. After training I did a month nannying in London then worked in two Nurseries before going into Childminding. I have been a Childminder for 18 years, and a Funded Childminder for 15 years.
I love my job - it's the best job anyone could have to see children grow and develop into independent young people.

I currently have vacancies on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please enquire for more information.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to arrange a visit.
A prospectus is available on request as are all my policies and procedures.

About Kinderplay: The Childcare

The childcare at Kinderplay is provided for children in a secure, warm, friendly and homely environment. I am a registered childminder with Ofsted and and a 'Specialist Childminder in Early Learning'. I have a lot of experience of working with children of different ages and in a variety of settings - before, while and after training as a Nursery Nurse (Btec). Please ask to see my file of Certificates etc.

I am registered to care for a maximum of 6 children under 8 years -
3 children under 5 years of age, of whom two can be under 1 year old; and 3 children over 5 years of age. I also provide a babysitting service, either in your home or at my home. Overnight care is possible as part of my house registration with Ofsted. See the Fees page for information on prices.

All children will be treated with an awareness for their own individuality and uniqueness. They will be motivated to express themselves, respect each other and learn from their own experiences and those of others

To give your child a variety of learning experiences and opportunities to mix with children outside of the childminding setting, I try to take the children out as much as possible. We do activities throughout the day - planned and unplanned and these are for all age groups. Every child has access to all facilities, enjoying every aspect of play, so encouraging their Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Social development. This prepares and extends the skills and knowledge needed for later life, including the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). As a child's needs vary from day to day, the structure of a day is flexible.

Records are kept for each child and are confidential. Records kept are Information sheets, Contracts, Daily report sheets and home books and observation and progress sheets.

I have Public Liability Insurance (certificate on view) and National Childminding Association membership. Parents will be given a copy of Inspection reports.

To continue my professional development as an Childminder it may be necessary to have the occasional day off to attend training. I try to do this with as little disruption to the children and parents as possible.
